Turn of the Cheek

In Turn of the Cheek (2020), tragedy strikes a black couple when their teenage son is brutally murdered during a robbery. The murderer receives a 40-year prison sentence for his heinous act, but he is not alone in his suffering. The murderer has a young son, between the ages of 6 and 8, who now finds himself without a stable home.

As the grieving mother grapples with her loss, a strong desire to take in and adopt the young boy grows within her. However, her husband strongly objects to the idea, fearing that the presence of the murderer's child will only exacerbate their pain and complicate their already difficult healing process.

The situation becomes increasingly complicated when the child's biological father also objects to the mother's plan, introducing a new layer of emotional turmoil.
