Observe and Report is a dark comedy film that delves into the twisted mind of Ronnie Barnhardt, a delusional security guard with a desperate desire for power and love. The film explores themes of obsession, delusion, and the dangers of unchecked authority.

Ronnie, played by Seth Rogen, is a complex and unsettling character, driven by a mixture of insecurity and grandiosity. He believes himself to be a hero and is determined to prove himself as a skilled crime fighter, despite his obvious lack of qualifications.

The film also touches on themes of mental illness, as Ronnie's erratic behavior and deteriorating mental state are evident throughout. Despite his flaws, however, Ronnie's character elicits a strange empathy from the audience, as his misguided motivations and desperate need for validation are relatable in some way.

Observe and Report is a gritty and often uncomfortable exploration of one man's descent into madness, and a darkly humorous commentary on society's obsession with power and heroism.
