Details

Mulan (2020) is an epic action-adventure film based on the timeless Chinese legend. Directed by Niki Caro, this live-action adaptation follows the journey of a young Chinese maiden who disguises herself as a male warrior to save her father.

Set in Imperial China, Mulan's traditional family expects her to find a suitable husband and live a conventional life. However, when the Emperor mandates that one man from each family must serve in the Imperial Army, Mulan's father, who is frail and injured, is forced to go. Fearing for his life, Mulan defies societal norms and takes her father's place, assuming the identity of Hua Jun.

Under the mentorship of Commander Tung, and alongside a diverse group of warriors, including the skilled and hilarious Honghui, Mulan embarks on a treacherous journey to become a skilled warrior. All the while, she must hide her true identity, face her inner strength, and harness her unique abilities.

Mulan is not only challenged physically but also faces a formidable enemy, the villainous Böri Khan, and his shape-shifting witch, Xianniang. Mulan must use her wits, bravery, and resourcefulness to protect her country, her loved ones, and honor her family.

With breathtaking cinematography, thrilling action sequences, and a powerful message of empowerment, Mulan (2020) showcases the courage and resilience of a young woman who defies expectations and becomes a legendary warrior.
