In 1973 Las Vegas, a brilliant mafia enforcer named Nicky Santoro is sent by his bosses to monitor and protect their illegal casino operations. Nicky's childhood friend and expert gambler, Sam Ace Rothstein, is chosen to run the Tangiers Casino with a mission to turn it into a money-making machine. As Ace achieves success and expands his influence, he falls in love with an enchanting hustler named Ginger McKenna.
