We Own the Night (2007) is an intense crime drama set in Brooklyn, New York in 1988. The city is plagued by drug violence, with a Russian thug rising to power in the heroin trade. The police force is seen as a joke, unable to keep the streets safe. Two brothers, Joe and Bobby, have chosen different paths in life. Joe is following in their father Bert's footsteps and has become a rising star in the police department. Bobby, on the other hand, manages a club and is focused on his own success.
When Joe and Bert approach Bobby for help with intelligence gathering on the Russian drug lord, he refuses, not wanting to get involved in their dangerous world. However, everything changes when Joe decides to raid Bobby's club in an attempt to capture the Russian. This action sets off a chain of events that quickly spirals out of control.
As the Russian retaliates and puts a hit on Bobby, the brothers are forced to confront their differences and unite against a common enemy. Their loyalty and resilience are put to the test as they navigate the treacherous world of crime and violence.
