Skandal i Oxford (1940) is a comedic film starring Stan and Oliver, also known as Laurel and Hardy. In the movie, the duo find themselves in a series of hilarious situations. They first work as a butler and a maid for a dinner party at the Vandevere's, but things quickly go awry. Consequently, they are forced to take on menial jobs, such as street sweeping.
However, their luck takes a surprising turn when they accidentally capture a bank robber. The bank president, grateful for their bravery, rewards them by sending them to Oxford to receive a proper education. Unfortunately, their time at Oxford is not without its challenges. They become victims of student pranks, getting lost in a maze, and even inadvertently take over the Dean's quarters.
Things take a comedic twist when Stan suffers a knock on the head and believes he is the renowned Lord Paddington, a scholar and athlete of great distinction. Suddenly transformed into a pompous and knowledgeable character, Stan hires Oliver, whom he now calls Fatty, to be his loyal valet.
